Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Stuart Mason. I play and sing traditional and original songs and tunes on guitar, banjo, and mandola. I design and build web sites, and go fishing whenever I can. My wife and myself live in Los Osos, a small unincorporated beach town in California, about halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. I’ve lived in West Virginia, Ohio, Maui, and California.
What is folk music anyway? My reviews are purely subjective. If it’s got deep roots, it’s good. If it’s got some twang or fiddle, even better. I steer away from loud electrified bands most of the time. Good stuff. Been there done that. But nowadays, not my cup of tea.
I’m a working musician with no day job. I’m a member of Celtic-folk group Molly’s Revenge and Little Black Train, an oldternative Americana trio. I have released a solo record called Appalachian Bride. I perform a weekly residency with the Old-Time Fiddle and Banjo Show at Pappy MacGregor’s in San Luis Obispo, CA. READ MORE HERE.
