OMIGAWD!! Pickathon starts Friday–that’s the day after tomorrow! Portland’s annual hillbilly-roots hootenanny is one of the best music festivals there is, and I’ve been to quite a few, from Bill Monroe’s Bean Blossom to Yosemite’s Strawberry. I was able to attend Pickathon two years ago, and I’ve inserted a couple videos from 2006 below. As usual, the lineup looks sick, and includes The Gourds, Crooked Still, Justin Townes Earle, and the Bad Livers. You got 48 hours… git in yer car and start drivin’!
